When You Have No Time for Yourself
If you have 5 minutes
Send a text message to a loved one
Consult with your partner, a friend or a family member who
always brightens your day. Send a funny picture of your week, an inspirational
quote or something funny that will make them smile.
Amplify your shower routine
When you have time to take a real shower, use those extra
minutes to exfoliate your body, deep condition your hair, or moisturize it.
These things can give you a moment to feel rejuvenated.
Blend a smoothie
Give your body some fuel and nutrition by mixing in fruits,
some vegetables, and protein powder so you don't starve or get hungry when it's
time to eat. Do more to drink throughout the day or share with your children.
Listen to your
favorite song
Take a break in Sesame Street to hear what you really want
to hear. Plug in your headphones while putting away toys or preparing dinner
and enjoy your favorite jam.
Sit in the sun
Sunlight is a natural mood enhancer. When you can giveaway a
few minutes, grab yourself (and your coffee) and sit external to literally soak
up the sun.
Take something away
You may be worried about sticky fries. Or maybe your
cobweb-covered porch annoys you every time you walk by. Grab a sponge, broom,
or whatever else you have and feel the sweet sense of accomplishment that
cleaning often brings.
Play a inclined
Whether you play Candy Passion on your phone or immerse
yourself in the world of Animal Crossing, the games can challenge your brain
and give your mind a virtual vacation. Play with friends or family to make it
social.
Increase your heart
rate.
The movement of your body does wonders for your state of
mind. Not sure what to do exactly? Download the app that offers different
length workouts (Peloton and The Sculpt Society are two great options) that easily
fit in a mini training bag.
Put on a mask
No, not that kind of mask. Give your skin a spa experience
with a mask that doesn't need to be rinsed off right away.
So you can wear it when feeding your kids and then take it
off without missing a bite. Try Edible Beauty's Bamboo Leaf Masks for an
incredibly hydrating and botanical experience.
